Talat Bhat
Director Festival
Talat Bhat is a Swedish-Kashmiri documentary filmmaker, journalist, and trade union campaigner whose work explores the intersection of media, social justice, and labour rights.
With a Master’s degree in Media Production and ongoing research on the impact of new media technologies in conflict zones, Bhat uses film as a tool for resistance and solidarity.
He has directed and co-produced several acclaimed documentaries, including Segertåget / Victory Train, Bring Him Back, and Rocking the Boat. His films often highlight underrepresented voices—whether those of families divided by borders or workers fighting for their rights at sea.
Beyond filmmaking, Talat leads the Nordic Labour Film Festival (nlff.se) and serves as Art Director for the Nordic Palestinian Film Festival (npff.se), fostering creative collaboration across the Nordic region.
