Coming from a diverse but racially divided South Africa, filmmaker Tshililo waha Muzila visits Spain and his racial anxiety is relieved when he receives an unexpected warm welcome. This is short-lived as soon as he learns of systematic prejudices directed to an influx of West Africans displaced immigrants in the region. Using the Mediterranean migrant crisis as the canvas, Tshililo draws parallel contradictions with his personal journey and that of his son, a Spanish by birth. He sets on a Camino de Santiago, a pilgrimage not only for personal identity but tribute to the thousands of immigrants who have lost their lives in search of a better life.
